We followed her to see exactly what she thought\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5482 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/monkey-forest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_4404-1000x667.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"813\" height=\"542\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She spent a lot of time riding on the backs of other monkeys, avoiding the snow as much as she could. Although after a while she did venture down with a light pitter-patter on the newly frosted floor and a quick forage for food, before quickly jumping back up for a ride on a male\u2019s back.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5480 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/monkey-forest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_4390-1000x690.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"813\" height=\"561\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Barbary macaques originate from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and Algeria and are therefore acclimatised to the colder weather and snow. \u00a0Over the winter months, the monkeys grow thick winter coats to help keep them warm. They tend to huddle together for warmth (which is very cute) and often spend their time in the trees to avoid snow covering the ground below.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Come and see the monkeys<\/h4>\n<p>Despite the cold temperatures, it\u2019s actually a fantastic time of year to visit the monkeys \u2013 just remember to wrap up warm.\u00a0 Monkey Forest reopens for its 15<sup>th<\/sup> year this weekend on the 15<sup>th<\/sup> February.
