Joseph, who grew up in the beautiful Alsace region of France, lived extremely close to one of our sister park La Montagne des Singes.<\/p>\n<p>This park was the first of 4 parks to open in 1969. The idea was to acquaint visitors with a species of monkey living freely in conditions similar to those in the wild.<\/p>\n<p>A year after the couple met, Alison who is originally from Stoke on Trent, headed to Alsace for the first time to meet Joseph\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s then that the couple enjoyed one of the first dates in Joseph\u2019s hometown and what better place to go than a forest filled with monkeys.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the couple is happily married with two boys who have recently left university. Since their first visit to Alsace, the two have been back frequently to visit family and to introduce their two boys to the monkeys!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1855 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/monkey-forest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_9046-1000x667.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"452\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/monkey-forest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_9046-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/monkey-forest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_9046-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/monkey-forest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_9046-1400x933.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 452px) 100vw, 452px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Realising it had been 35 years since their first trip to see the monkeys Alison and Joseph recently visited Trentham Monkey Forest \u2013 a little closer to home. The pair had a lovely trip and commented on \u201chow calm and peaceful\u201d the forest was.<\/p>\n<p>Monkey Forest really is the perfect place for a special \u2018date\u2019 and we think Alison and Joseph are proof of that.
