In the heart of the forest, amidst the lively chatter of monkeys swinging from tree to tree, lives a legend\u2014S75, a 30-year-old Barbary macaque who continues to thrive against all odds.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For a Barbary macaque, reaching the age of 30 is an incredible feat. To put it into perspective, S75 is equivalent to a human centenarian, well over 100 years old! Her resilience and longevity make her the oldest monkey in the forest, a true marvel .<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But S75\u2019s journey is more than just about age\u2014it\u2019s about family. She\u2019s surrounded by generations of descendants who fill her life with joy and companionship. Having a strong family network is something all Barbary macaques thrive on, and S75 is no exception.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

S75 has two grown daughters, C134, affectionately called \u2018Misog,\u2019 and G207, better known as \u2018Lippy.\u2019 Misog, now 25 years old, earned her nickname because she\u2019s known for being a bit grumpy\u2014\u2018Misog\u2019 is a Stokey term for being a little miserable ! On the other hand, Lippy, aged 21, got her name from her argumentative nature when she was younger. Always stirring things up, she\u2019s since mellowed out, but her legacy remains.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

S75\u2019s family tree extends even further. She\u2019s a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and even a great-great-grandmother! Her lineage includes:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Misog\u2019s 19-year-old daughter, i1, who was one of the first babies born in the park.<\/li>\n
  • i1 went on to have three children of her own: 060 (14), P81 (13), and V121\u2014fondly known as \u2018Splodge\u2019 because of his adorable freckles (8)<\/li>\n
  • 060\u2019s daughter, S111, also known as \u2018Mo\u2019 (10), has the distinction of being S75\u2019s great-great-granddaughter! Mo got her nickname because of the cute mohawk she sported when she was little.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     <\/p>\n

    This rich, multi-generational family tree is a testament to the strong bonds Barbary macaques form and the lives they live here at Monkey Forest. Females, in particular, maintain lifelong connections with each other, and S75 embodies this beautifully. She often spends her time close to one of her daughters, basking in the warmth of family ties.<\/p>\n

    As the amazing female of this remarkable lineage, S75\u2019s life is filled with love and community. Watching over her extensive family\u2014spanning five generations\u2014she is a living symbol of resilience, strength, and the importance of family bonds.<\/p>\n
